Seeing wholeness
in brokenness.
Founder Yoma once suffered severe vision loss due to illness, at one point nearly losing her sight entirely.
During those days of near-blindness, she experienced first-hand the helplessness and fear of losing basic everyday abilities — yet she also glimpsed the light of life's resilience.
It was this difficult experience that made her firmly believe: the most precious value in life is not perfection, but that after enduring hardship, the broken parts become the power of self-healing that allows us to stand up again.
The brand began in 2014, when founder Yoma Ma started an independent designer leather brand, building a solid foundation in the market on the strength of fine craftsmanship and design. While collaborating with a sheltered workshop, Yoma noticed that the artisans there — though each faced their own challenges — showed remarkable focus and talent when making leather goods. This observation led Yoma to rethink the brand's direction. She came to believe that a brand's value should not lie only in selling products, but also in creating real change for its artisans.
And so, in 2023, she decided to formally transform the brand into a social enterprise. Broken Fingers+ was born, dedicated to creating value for the community of people with disabilities.
The most precious thing in life is the ability to heal yourself.
